kintsugi

K I N T S U G I

Kint {gold} Sugi {joinery} is the Japanese art of mending broken pottery with gold.

A world view centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection—a way of living life with an authentic appreciation for the beauty to be found in what is, just as it is; wabi sabi.

Hi, I’m Jen

I love teaching Kintsugi and would love to bring this workshop to your community! My point of view is that Kintsugi art making is profound, accessible, and satisfying.

A bit about me… I am self-taught. I began experimenting with Kintsugi in 2017 and teaching it virtually in 2020 during the pandemic. In 2022, small 4-person pod workshops took place in person. I learned what materials work and what doesn’t (gah, epoxy). In 2023 and 2024, I taught the Kintsugi workshop in an overnight retreat setting for groups of 20 and feel confident that my method is accessible, non-toxic, clean, and produces artwork the students love!
